ACWICT’S INTERVENTION IN FACEBOOK BOOST YOUR BUSINESS
The African Centre for Women Information, Communication and Technology partnered with Facebook to roll out Boost Your Business targeting 1000 Young Entrepreneurs in Kenya with an aim to equipping them with modern digital marketing skills on Facebook and Instagram platforms. The initiative sought to provide free training to young female entrepreneurs between ages 18-35yrs in Nairobi, Kisumu, Nakuru and Mombasa.
The training was designed to provide Face to Face training with practical engagement on how to navigate various functionalities on Facebook and Instagram space. The training adopted a mix of Facebook’s curriculum with integrated interpersonal interaction activities to enhance understanding of the skills learnt.
The mobilization took place in the month of June and early July, 2017 with a 2 day training, half day for each group.
Key achievements for the month include mobilization and selection of 489 young women entrepreneurs to participate in the program. Our partner Beyond Colors reaching 261 businesses in Mombasa and Kisumu Counties while the ACWICT reaching 228 over by end of July, 2017.

I learnt a lot and found the training very useful. I run an interior design business and through the training she was able to create a Facebook page for my business which she didn’t have any initially.
