ACWICT in partnership with the Motorola solutions Foundation are looking to create opportunities for 1,000 high potential but disadvantaged young women from poor and disadvantaged backgrounds in Kenya to pursue careers in Computer Science and Computer Science driven fields.

The young women targeted will be introduced to computer science including on introduction to computer systems, hardware and software components, computer applications, programming and coding, and components on ICT for development. Those already taking computer science and computer science related courses will be provided with mentorship support to ensure they are retained to complete their training. In the long term we expect that at least 70 per cent of the young people participating in this program will pursue careers in computer science and computer science related fields.

The Ninaweza (II) empowerment program (#We speak code) will officially roll out the first round of trainings on the second week of January.
