Facebook Boost Your Business
Overview
Boost Your Business was an initiative of Facebook Africa targeting women small business owners to provide them an opportunity to gain most up-to-date tools, insights, and best practices on Facebook and Instagram to improve the outreach of their business enterprises.
The initiative came at an opportune period as social media is fast becoming the most integrated web resource because of its ease of accessibility. It was estimated then that there were about 9 million social media platforms users in Kenya alone with Facebook commanding 6.8 million active users every month. These statistics indicated that Facebook was increasingly becoming an effective tool that guarantees interactivity, sharing of information and hence a potent marketing tool for every business.

Goals and Objectives
The initiative seeks to provide free training to 1000 women small business owners aged between 18-35yrs in Nairobi, Kisumu, Nakuru and Mombasa. The digital marketing skills gained provided them young women entrepreneurs an opportunity to harness the Social media and other Internet and World Wide Web resources to improve their outreach of their small business enterprises
The training mixed Facebook’s curriculum with integrated interpersonal interaction activities to enhance understanding of the skills learnt. The Boost Your Business programme was also being rolled out in Kenya for both male and female entrepreneurs by Africa 118.

Methods used to Achieve the goals of the program
The project adopted a workshop based approach delivered through two-half day sessions in order to allow the young women entrepreneurs time to tend to their businesses. The training adopted Facebook Curriculum Model with integrated interpersonal interaction activities to enhance understanding of the implementation of the skills learnt.
