Empowering Young Women in West Pokot: The Impact of the Girls of Vision Program
ACWICT, in partnership with the Global Give Back Sacco, embarked on a transformative journey to uplift the lives of marginalized young women in West Pokot, Kenya. Over the past five years, the Girls of Vision program has provided a vital lifeline to these women, rescuing them from environments fraught with social and discriminatory challenges, including early pregnancies, extreme poverty due to lack of education, and gender-based violence.
Creating a Safe Haven
The cornerstone of the Girls of Vision program is its commitment to creating a safe space for these young women—a rescue center where they can find refuge from the high-risk environments they are often trapped in.
